A Father's Rules For Finding Fulfillment

A FATHER'S RULES FOR FINDING FULFILLMENT

Be courteous, be punctual, always say please and thank you, and be sure to hold your knife and fork properly. Others take their cue on how to treat you from your manners.
Be kind, considerate and compassionate when others are in trouble, even if you have problems of your own. Others will admire your selflessness and will help you in due course.
Show moral courage. Do what is right, even if that makes you unpopular. I always thought it important to be able to look at myself in the shaving mirror every morning and not feel guilt or remorse. I depart this world with a pretty clear conscience.
Show humility. Stand your ground but pause to reflect on what the other side are saying, and back off when you know you are wrong. Never worry about losing face. That only happens when you are pig-headed.
Learn from your mistakes. You will make plenty so use them as a learning tool. If you keep making the same mistake or run into a problem, you’re doing something wrong.
Avoid disparaging someone to a third party; it is only you who will look bad. If you have a problem with someone, tell them face to face.
Hold fire! If someone crosses you, don’t react immediately. Once you say something it can never be taken back, and most people deserve a second chance.
Have fun. If this involves taking risks, so be it. If you get caught, hold your hands up.
Give to charity and help those who are less fortunate than yourselves: it’s easy and so rewarding.
Always look on the upside! The glass is half full, never half empty. Every adversity has a silver lining if you seek it out.
Make it your instinct always to say ‘yes’. Look for reasons to do something, not reasons to say no. Your friends will cherish you for that.
Be canny: you will get more of what you want if you can give someone more of what they desire. Compromise can be king.
Always accept a party invitation. You may not want to go, but they want you there. Show them courtesy and respect.
Never ever let a friend down. I would bury bodies for my friends, if they asked me to . . . which is why I have chosen them carefully.
Always tip for good service. It shows respect. But never reward poor service. Poor service is insulting.
Always treat those you meet as your social equal, whether they are above or below your station in life. For those above you, show due deference, but don’t be a sycophant.
Always respect age, as age equals wisdom.
Be prepared to put the interests of your sibling first.
Be proud of who you are and where you come from, but open your mind to other cultures and languages. When you begin to travel (as I hope you will), you’ll learn that your place in the world is both vital and insignificant. Don’t get too big for your breeches.
Be ambitious, but not nakedly so. Be prepared to back your assertions with craftsmanship and hard work.
Live every day to its full: do something that makes you smile or laugh, and avoid procrastination.
Give of your best at school. Some teachers forget that pupils need incentives. So if your teacher doesn’t give you one, devise your own.
Always pay the most you can afford. Never skimp on hotels, clothing, shoes, make-up or jewellery. But always look for a deal. You get what you pay for.
Never give up! My two little soldiers have no dad, but you are brave, big-hearted, fit and strong. You are also loved by an immensely kind and supportive team of family and friends. You make your own good fortune, my children, so battle on.
Never feel sorry for yourself, or at least don’t do it for long. Crying doesn’t make things better.
Look after your body and it will look after you.
Learn a language, or at least try. Never engage a person abroad in conversation without first greeting them in their own language; by all means ask if they speak English!
And finally, cherish your mother, and take very good care of her.
I love you both with all my heart.
Daddy x

"16 na 'ko eh"

Happy Birthday to my Big F Lorraine! :>

She's now 16 (but she really don't seem like one.) HAHAHA. We've known each other for like forever but our friendship deepened in second year. As part of her birthday celebration, we went to their new condo in Cedar Crest, inside Acacia Estates. Tell you, it is like several little Greenwoods placed in a larger well, actually 10x larger Greenwoods. Gets? The village has its own shuttle wherein the fare is 10 pesos. The jeepeney is allowed only at the gate of Acacia Estates. You then have to ride the shuttle from the gate of Acacia Estates going inside and eventually to the gate of Cedar Crest. After that, it is like a 3-5 minute walk to Lorraine's condo. Well, it would take time logging at the guard house. The place was awesome and lavish. Super lavish.

What we did throughout the day:
-Went to school (facade) the universal meeting place.
-Went to True Colors for our id pics. WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE PHIL. PASSPORT ID WHAT
-Saw Jean, Ira and Jana running. We actually thought they were hiding or something.
-Went back to the school.
-Saw the three mentioned above holding tiny cakes for Lorraine.

Awwww. :')
These cost like 50 php. only. I forgot the name of the bakeshop.. Sweet Berry? Haha not sure tho.
-Some picture taking...
-Went to Lorraine's without Elsbeth.
-Traveled.
-Traveled..
-Waited for ze shuttle. WHAT IS SOSSY.
Okay. Tell me what. Waiting shed is lavish. EVEN THE WAITING SHED IS LAVISH.
 -Traveled...
-Arrived at the club house.
Hi Pau. GET LAVISH PEOPLE.

Don't mind my sister-in-law. Ok.
-Got mesmerized by the view. DID I EVEN TELL YOU HOW AWESOME IT IS.
Please don't mind the weird yet sexy and beautiful and drop dead gorgeous girls. Mind ze view.
-Changed clothes (swimming attire)
Enough said oki.

-Sat at the cabana.
Witwiw my friends. Witwiw

-Wasn't allowed to swim because of the "cotton"
-Waited for Tito.
-Waited.
-Waited..
-Eventually swam.. Even though we were wearing cotton. ( I was wearing a tube inside a sando but because of the shitty cotton policy, I took the sando off. Ok. What is sexy.)
Witwiw. Look at those gals. / dolls / robots.

-Swimming..
-Swimming....
-Swimming....
-Eat.

-Eat..
-Eat.....

-Eat.....

"Oy, Goodbye )$Q(@)$@ daw." "Goodbye na talaga!"
 "Eh pinilit akong tanggalin eh..."
"16 ka na diba?"
-'Di marunong si Loreyn lumusot sa ilalim ng tao sa pool.
-First time niya naligo sa ulan.

*Alam mo yung feeling na first time mo maligo sa ulan tapos first time mo din mag planking?

Dear BigF,
Happy Happy Birthday! I love you sososososmuch! Thank you for being the best friend ever! I will definitely treasure every single piece of memory we have. I hope that one day even if we part ways, that bond and that friendship will last like until the 8457486464645th year of our lives. Happy Birthday! 16 ka na!

No Title.

It's almost one in the morning and here I am in front of the computer blogging. I mean, what kind of a blogger would I be if I would let my entries rot. So here I am, blogging about random things.

*Actually, in a separate tab, I'm continuing my Ateneo post. Sorry. It was like months ago..
Now, Ateneo Adventure is published below. :'>

*Okay, so our class is strictly under this 'Speak English Campaign' To start off, we have 100 points, and for every Filipino sentence, minus 1 and Filipino phrase, minus .5...

What if's:

CASE I:
"We haven't checked it pa EH." - Does this have a demerit?
The answer is.... No. EH is not counted. Other Filipino words like NAMAN, 'DI BA, KAYA and HA are also, not counted for the demerits. (Wait, this is based on what I understood ha. )

CASE II:
"I'm like, *does the quotation mark action* NALILITO." - Our teacher said that it is a big NO NO to do the quotation mark action. HAHA ^ ^

CASE III:
No more case. I'm tinatamad na olredi.

*What is Conyo? What do you mean by the word CONYO? Is it the people who speak like... "I told you nga 'di buh. Like, YEAH." - is that it? HAHAHA.

*I like the Script's song Long Gone and Move On.

When's the day you start again
And when the hell does you'll get over it begin
I'm looking hard in the mirror
But I don't fit my skin
It's too much to take
It's too hard to break me
From the cell I'm in

Oh from this moment on
I'm changing the way I feel yeah
From this moment on
It's time to get real

Cause I still don't know how to act
Don't know what to say
Still wear the scars like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone
But I still don't know where to start, still finding my way
Still talk about you like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

So how'd you pick the pieces up yeah
I'm barely used to saying me instead of us
The elephant in the room keeps scaring off the guests
It gets under my skin to see you with him
And it's not me that you're with

Oh from this moment on
I'm changing the way I feel yeah
From this moment on
It's time to get real

Cause I still don't know how to act
Don't know what to say
Still wear the scars like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone
But I still don't know where to start, still finding my way
Still talk about you like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

No I can't keep thinking that you're coming back
No
Cause I got no business knowing where you're at
No
And it's gonna be hard yeah
Cause I have to wanna heal yeah
And it's gonna be hard yeah
The way I feel that I have to get real

I still don't know how to act
Don't know what to say
Still wear the scars like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone
But I still don't know where to start, still finding my way
Still talk about you like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

But you're long gone, you moved on
Eh eh, oh oh
eh eh, oh oh
But you're long gone, you moved on

Paving Our Way Towards Our Dream. :')

Opportunity knocks but once.
Superduperlatepost sorry.

"Kapag 'di nagbigay ng libreng form, 'di ako magtetest. Kapag nagbigay, ibig sabihin meant to be." And yes, a free form was handed to me  after our campus tour and seminar at the Ateneo De Manila University. Amen. Tatanggi ka pa ba? Eh, eto na o. Ayan na sa harap mo. :)

We had this seminar... At first, I was like okay. Seminar... Pero habang tumatagal yung araw parang.. Ah. Okay, WOW. ETO NA TO. THIS IS IT. Pero, after this day, at least alam ko na sa sarili ko na. Eto, eto gusto ko. Eto talaga. Ganon yung feeling. :)

Now for our photos. Let ze photos do the talking. :)
Pichure. :D

Sir. Maesam. Jamela. Clio. Trisha.

Kuya Abner, ze tour guide. :> Btw, He's like 100% scholar there. So, all hail Kuya Abner.

Us, touring the campus. So okay. We wore red. What is lutang.

Our free application forms. :')
Believe it or not, there was this kid who asked sir M, "Anong top mo?" Sir M, mapagpatol. "Top 3" And from then on, they became best of friends. Sayang walang picture. They are so bagay. Haha.
Ansaveh ng batang sobrang saya dahil first time niyang makapunta ng Ateneo? Magalit na kayo pero first time ko talaga. HAHAHAHA. And I thank God and the school for the opportunity. :>

I also bought a wristlet from Ateneo. Hihi. I wanted to buy a shirt but you kno, money. Money is the root of all evil.

"Gusto ko 'to." Ganon ang feeling ko. Ewan. Basta. Yung feeling mo sana 'yun na. Bahala na si Lord. :)

Saturday Shopping

We had the review for NCAE and after the review, my friends and I planned to go to this certain mall to watch Monte Carlo. Everything was planned already until.... Okay. So, in short the so called movie date (no. not the romantic one.) did not materialize. What upsets me most is that I received no explanation. Not even a single text of "I'm sorry I can't make it." Instead, the person texted my friend and told her, "Ayoko na." Okay. So what the hell. You are so INSENSITIVE. I mean. What is the matter with you?! A week ago, we were so okay. And I was so stupid to think of giving you another chance. What is wrong with me. Enough is enough. No more second chance. I am so done.

On the lighter note, Arlene and I still went to the mall. Duh. The person is not that powerful to hinder us from enjoying our Saturday! :)

These things are the reason why I shall starve next week:
Ha! Finally got a new calculator. The calcu I was using last week was... "Medyo jologs"   According Mr. A's vocabulary.  I do hope that I bought the right calcu. I was about to buy the Casio one but the counter guy told me that this one's better and with discount! :) I've tried some of the equations that we do during our class and gladly, it shows an answer and not the famous, "Math Error" Thank God. This calcu has 4 floors by the way. :) Awesome.
My first ever Kikay thing says Hi to you guys! :) Okay. I wanted an eyelash curler way back but I always forget to purchase one. Now, I finally have one! I won't be using this during school days. Duh. It's school there's no need to curl your eye lashes there. :)) I guess I bought one just for the sake of having one. :))
iWhite Nose Pack. White Heads and Black Heads are so kldsfjskdlfjskd. So here. Oh. New packaging.  Available at Watsons for only 17 pesos per sachet. I should have bought the Squeeze one.
Since my vintage necklace with the butterfly pendant got broken into pieces, I bought a new one from GG. :) 100 php. Only! :) I would buy the big circular thingy next. :) I'm planning to start collecting accessories from now on. I don't really know why. It looks cool somehow. :) I know have... A vintage bangle and a vintage necklace. Yipi. Progress. Pardon me for I'm just starting to bloom. Okay. I bloomed in my senior year. So what. :)))))))))
Compare the clip I use everyday and the CLIIIIIP they use. HAHAHA. No guts to use that kind of clip. No guts at all. :))

Finally got the reviewers! :) YEY.

We were about to enter the movie house when a guy approached us. Actually, at first, I thought we were like being pranked. Omygad what is happening. But then, he talked. And talked. And talked. He belongs to this org called Global Peace Youth . I believe this is an org that aims to help street children. I think they send them to school using the funds the collected by selling bracelets just like the one shown above. 80 php. For one. :) The guy said, "Hindi naman kami iskolar ng bayan. Iskolar kami para sa bayan." It's nice to think that at this day and age, there are still people who are very willing to extend help to others even if it means that they would have to talk to total strangers and ask and convince them to buy their item.
Grabe. Admirable ang ginagawa nila. Honestly, ako, 'di ko kaya 'yon. Nakakahiya. Nakakatakot. Pero sila, hinaharap nila 'yon para makatulong. :) Kudos to Kuya Arkiel and company. :) Ewan ko, ang sarap ng feeling na malaman na may mga taong handang tumulong at mas masarap yung feeling na in your own way, naging part ka ng pagtulong na 'yon. :)

If 'ts meant to be, then, It'll be. :)

Blog Worthy Week

How would I even describe this week. How. I mean, that roller coaster ride of emotions... Just something words can't describe.

Shall I start this week's blog with an apology? Haha. I'm super sorry for blogging rarely. Common people, it's kinda hard to balance school, managing a Twitter account and a blog.

Monday.. What happened last Monday.. I'm not really sure what happened last Monday. Oh, we crammed for the first chapter of our IP. Oh well. Tuesday.. We tried to 'help' in designing the stage for the opening of the intramural on two days after. We're not that artistic, though so we just did some scissors action. Wednesday.. This is the omyghhhhhad day. Original plan was to go home at 6pm or even earlier, thinking that we already made a big progress but as usual, the plan wasn't put into action. They all went home with their parents since that day was also the first meeting of the parents. Us, the poor people were left in the school. Cleaned the mess we made in the stage and went home at around 6:30pm. Imagine going up to the 5th floor of the building at past six. What is bravery my friends. What. Thursday is the best day ever. Free day!
Here are some snap shots from the opening....

Blog worthy snap shots from the Opening of Intramural '11
This is my friend's very big nose. No relation to the Intramural at all, but still, worth blogging for. :) GUESS WHO
Hi Mudra M. :) What is a big FAAAAAAAN.

Uno Cards with our birth dates.. Why is mine up side down?

Anne Curtis came to our school. No joke. :)) She's the muse of the other section. The head dress made this worth blogging for.
I don't even know his name. He dances effortlessly but still, he dances great. Like omg. How do you even do that. What made this pic worth blogging for? THE QUESTION ON MY MIND. That I cannot share...

Jazel's cool shoes. Lol. What do you even call that? :)) Converse shoes but I don't know the name/kind or whatever you call that to name shoes.

And of course, the.... torch? omg. Is that even right. with Anne Curtis' head again. :)
Start the year-round Intramural right, start with this fezz. :D

We did like a million shots for the GIF thingy but sadly, I have no time doing it and, it's just too many!!!! :)
I'll be posting it soon! :)
